Member Service Representative

Full or part time available. If opting for part time, the hours will be flexible to meet your availability.

Essential job functions of this position:

  1. Accept deposits, loan payments and process share withdrawals requests received from members’ in person, by mail or by telephone via the on-line data processing system.
  2. Process traveler’s cheque and money order purchase, maintain adequate supply and reconcile the supply to the records.
  3. Prepare and make daily deposits of cash and checks.
  4. Open and maintain member accounts and prepare reports of actions.
  5. Assist and respond to member inquiries received through the mail, in person or by telephone.
  6. Open and distribute the incoming mail and affix postage and prepare the outgoing mail.
  7. Answer incoming telephone calls.
  8. Assist with the maintenance of closed and dormant accounts, to include the necessary reporting to the State of Hawaii.

 

Education:                 Minimum high school graduate.

 

Experience:               Minimum one-year cash handling experience.

 

Communicate:          Ability to read, write and understand English with the ability to present information and respond to questions from or with others whose first language is not English. Able to interpret and effectively communicate with others, which may involve an extensive variety of technical instructions in verbal, mathematical or diagram form.

 

Skills:                         Ability to demonstrate basic math skills, manually and with a 10-key calculator. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, analyze and draw valid conclusions.

 

Other:                         Employee must have working knowledge of personal computers and its applicable software, especially spreadsheet and word processing programs. Prior knowledge of Users DataSafe is helpful.

Outreach Worker

Outreach Worker  - Part time, temporary position until further notice. Flexible working hours.

Primary Functions:

  • Plans and schedules contact with potential members.
  • Recruit members to the credit union from within the current field of membership. This could include making presentations in front of groups, being present at an employer benefit fair, attending associational or civic club meetings or making house calls to speak one-on-one to individuals.
  • Inform potential members and current members about the products and services the credit union offers for its members and how the credit union can help them as individuals.
  • Assist the credit union in obtaining its annual objectives of membership, share and loan growth.
  • Responsible for ascertaining compliance with rules, regulations and laws pertaining to credit union functions, marketing and advertising,
  • Reports regularly to the President on current and future plans, statistical information, membership growth, member satisfaction and recommendations for product or service enhancement to facilitate quality

Education:              BS is business management, finance, social work, social sciences or marketing.

 

Experience:            Hawaiian studies or finance. Experienced in community interation, motivation and working with the Hawaiian Community. Substitutions may be considered.

 

Communicate:        Good writing and verbal skills to convey clear and concise reports and to communicate effectively with staff and external organizations, agencies and individuals.

 

Skills:                    Good planning, organizational and collaboration skills. Team player with personal and professional integrity with good problem solving.

 

Other:                    Competent computer skills working with word processing, spreadsheet, database programs, publisher and presentation software.
